Wait, what is it?

NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback is an INVITATION  to the nervous system to return to its own Intrinsic state of balance...and to move away from discomfort.

To re-set, re-calibrate and re-balance.
It is Not an INTERVENTION or something forced on the nervous system that often results in dis-comfort.

It is a TRAINING for your nervous system....not a treatment!

What can it help with?

People often come in for one reason — and notice positive changes in many areas of their lives...

Here are just a few areas clients have reported improvement:

✓ Better sleep (falling asleep easier, staying asleep)

✓ Reduced anxiety, irritability, and emotional reactivity

✓ Increased focus, attention and mental clarity

How does it work?

Imagine your brain catching a glimpse of itself in the mirror — and gently adjusting, all on its own.

That’s how NeurOptimal® works.

It’s a unique form of brain training that gives your nervous system real-time feedback, allowing it to notice unhelpful patterns and return to a more flexible, balanced, and regulated state.

✓ Calmer, more present and grounded

✓ Better able to manage stress/frustrations

✓ Reduced sense of overwhelm

✓ Decreased racing mind, more flexible thinking

✓ Greater ease in relationships and day-to-day life.  Easier transitions especially for kids.

✓ Cognitive support for aging brains

✓ Greater OVERALL SENSE OF WELLBEING

"After years of panic attacks, I've finally found something that brings peace."

Frequently Asked Questions

Just as no two fingerprints are the same, your brain and central nervous system are also completely unique. This journey is deeply personal and as a result, it is not possible to predict the exact number of sessions you’ll need. However, here are some general guidelines to help you begin.

Most people notice subtle shifts within their first 5-6 sessions – like more restful sleep, a greater sense of calm or an improved sense of well-being. These early changes are gentle signs that your brain is starting to move toward a more balanced and regulated state. While people may begin to feel benefits early on, lasting results emerge over time.

Based on both my experience and the experience of many trainers, a series of 20 sessions is typically recommended to give your brain the consistent support it needs to establish and reinforce new patterns. Some clients continue beyond this to further their progress or deepen long-term resilience. Think of it like going to the gym – every session builds strength and flexibility and the benefits are cumulative.

The beauty is…You are in the driver’s seat. You’re free to pause sessions whenever it feels right and return for tune-up sessions whenever you feel called. What your brain learns and the shifts it makes stay with you over time – this is lasting change and not just a temporary fix!
During a NeurOptimal® session, you’ll sit comfortably—listening to the music. Sensors are gently placed on your scalp and ears using a water-soluble paste. These sensors don’t send anything into your brain—they simply pick up your brain’s electrical activity and feed it to the software.

As the session runs, you can be on a phone or tablet, reading, or simply eyes closed and relaxing. The music plays continuously, but with occasional, brief pauses. These pauses happen whenever the software detects a sudden shift or inefficiency in your brain’s activity—such as when you’re distracted, anxious, overthinking, fidgeting, or stuck in a habitual pattern. These micro-pauses gently signal the brain to notice what it’s doing, bringing it back to the present moment.

This real-time feedback doesn’t push or diagnose—it simply offers your brain the opportunity to self-correct. Over time, your brain learns to let go of patterns that no longer serve you, increasing flexibility, calm, and balance in a way that’s unique to your brain/system.

Each session lasts about 45 minutes with hook up and check in time.

In Canada, NeurOptimal Neurofeedback is considered a “General Wellness Device” not a Medical device and as such is considered a TRAINING, not a treatment for a specific diagnosis. Therefore, it is NOT covered by extended health insurance plans.

That said, many clients are able to submit receipts for reimbursement through a Health Spending Account (HSA) under a ‘wellness’ category.
